About

Built in Bhopal.
For Indian businesses.
For the long run.

We are a small team building one thing carefully. A spine that Indian businesses can run on for the next twenty years. Not a wrapper around someone else's system. Not a connector kit. The thing itself.

The bet.

India is a country of operators. Twenty million businesses, almost all of them under-served by software. Most are still running on Tally, WhatsApp, and a CA who does the rest. The reason isn't that these businesses don't want better. It's that “better” hasn't been good enough to switch for.

We think AI changes that. Not because of a chatbot in the sidebar. Because for the first time, an agent can reliably do the boring work that an SME otherwise hires three people to do badly. That only works if there's a system underneath that won't let the agent break things. That system did not exist. So we built it.

We're not chasing the global market. We're not trying to displace SAP. We're building for Indian operators with Indian compliance and Indian edge cases, because that's the market we know and the market that's been waiting.

Why now.

Three things that weren't true ten years ago and are true today. Each one was necessary. None of them was sufficient. Together, they're the reason this is the right time.

Models can do the work.
Reading a vendor invoice, classifying an expense, drafting a GST reply, reconciling a bank statement, writing a credit memo. These aren't research demos anymore. They're routine. The bar is no longer “can the model do it” — it's “can the system safely let it.”
India runs on rails.
GST has settled. e-Invoice and e-Way are mature. UPI cleared the rail for cash flow. India Stack, ONDC, Account Aggregator — the plumbing now exists for software to actually do the work in the way it should always have.
Operators expect more.
The founder of an MSME today grew up on Stripe-quality consumer software. They know what good feels like. They are not going to spend the next decade tolerating ten-year-old enterprise UX. The patience has run out.

Why us.

We're a small group of engineers and operators who've spent enough time inside SMEs to know exactly which software hurt, exactly which workarounds got built, and exactly which problems compound. We've also spent enough time on serious systems to know how to build ones that don't fall over.

We are not a fast-flipping startup. We're building Invariant the way you'd build a piece of infrastructure: carefully, with strong opinions, with the next ten years in mind. The customers we've signed know this. They picked us because of it.

Why Bhopal.

Bhopal is a serious city. It is also a quieter one. The talent here is excellent and stays. The cost of building is sane. The distance from the startup-noise of Bangalore is a feature, not a bug. We can think clearly here. We can ship without distraction. We can pay people well and still have a runway that lets us build the right thing instead of the demo-able thing.

We also like that our customers — Indian SMEs in tier-2 and tier-3 cities — feel like our peers when they walk into our office. Nobody is wearing a hoodie they don't own.

Talk to us.

If you're an operator who wants better, write to us. If you're an engineer who wants to build it, write to us. If you're a CA who wants their clients to not be miserable, definitely write to us.
